How Studley Cottage Soaps are Made
Studley Cottage Soaps are carefully blended from olive, coconut and palm oils, saponified with lye, fragranced with pure essential oil and some are textured with organic flower petals, oatmeal and other wonderful natural ingredients.
We make our soaps using the "cold process method" in which oils are melted, blended with lye and poured into curing trays where they are then left to cure for approximately a week before they are cut into individual bars. They dry and harden over a period of several weeks before being trimmed, wrapped in tissue and fabric and finished with our distinctive labels designed by the wonderful textile designer Paddy Killer.
Our soaps are created from the highest quality ingredients. Glycerine is released during the soap-making process. In addition some soaps are given extra nutritional qualities of oils such as sunflower oil, avocado oil, shea butter, calendula and vitamin E.
We consider that what we leave out is as important as what we include! We do not use artificial colours or other synthetic materials.
Soaps should be stored in dry, cool conditions and are best enjoyed as a fresh product.
Creating the character and fragrance of each soap is a passion! Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
